Business Development Manager

Job Title:  Business Development Manager

Immediate Supervisor:   Vice President of Business Development and Estimating

Base Location: Corvallis, Oregon or Vancouver, Washington


General Position Description

The role of the Business Development Manager is to build relationships with new clients and foster and expand relationships with our current clientele. The BDM will interface with the Business Development and Estimating team, Field Operations, Fabrication, and Engineering departments.

The BDM relentlessly focus on achieving and exceeding forecasted targets. The BDM will also keep a forward-looking eye on changing technologies and systems and communicating internally and externally with customers to meet the most current needs and keep Greenberry as the industry leader.

Industry Experience and Responsibilities

Strong understanding of millwright, pipefitting, steel fabrication, and welding technology

Must have direct industry knowledge and know how to speak the language

Ability to walk jobs and present the Greenberry’s value proposition

Willing to travel between Olympia WA to Northern CA regularly, with 2-3 overnights per week and the occasional travel to locations outside of the region

Complete weekly pipeline reports for Field and Fabrication for submission to our Executive Team

Responsible working and supporting the team in achieving revenue, profit and backlog goals

Maintain a current backlog projection to be used for business development, estimating and resource loading

Maintain the and improve the CRM

Experience with proposal writing and client presentations

Coordinate with the Marketing Director and VP of BD to execute Greenberry’s marketing and branding strategy

Develop new client relationships and foster existing relationships

Outgoing, high-energy, self-motivated, and driven

Out of the box and creative thinker

Must have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills

Able to professionally represent the company in face to face meetings with clients and have excellent phone skills

Strong sense of self and have no fear of rejection!

Down to earth and approachable

Fearless and motivated, with the ability to create new client relationship and business opportunities


5 years or more industrial construction experience (specifically with business development, project management and/or engineering experience)

Previous business development experience

Strong writing skills and ability to help draft professional proposals

Understand and savvy with technology, experience with CRM (Customer Relationship Management)

Experience with fabrication and field

Experience with local engineering firms a plus

Must have established relationships and contacts in the industry
